Pete Otway and Kiri Pritchard-Mclean (Pete Otway and Kiri Pritchard-McLean / Free Festival)

By | Published on Friday 16 August 2013

There’s much that can be learned from Kiri Prtichard-Mclean. The fact that pubic lice are an endangered species, for example, and a sizeable dose of Welsh social convention. But the biggest lesson this smart, instantly likeable girl-next-door type from Anglesey will give you is in observational comedy. She balances affection with an acute eye for the ridiculous to bring you a stand up set of well delivered, increasingly funny anecdotes drawn from her daily life which would be difficult not to relate to. The second act of this double header, Pete Otway, is in a similar mould with some decent punchlines, but he struggles to maintain Pritchard-McClean’s momentum. See her for free while you can – definitely one to watch.

Laughing Horse @ The Newsroom, until 25 Aug (not 13), 1.15pm.
