Our Father (Blod Jones and Kirsty Marsh / Free Festival)
By Mairi McNicol | Published on Tuesday 27 August 2013
Instead of hallowed musings on an Almighty God, as the title suggests, Blod Jones and Kirsty Marsh invite you to learn about their own fathers. The comedy segues between the duo themselves and some self-help videos from Ricky, Dicky, Nicky and Vicky. Whilst their laptop seemed to be working against them, they confidently and comically stood up to the challenge, aided no doubt by their natural charm. Though it was an interesting format, it would have been nice to have heard a bit more from the comedians, as the reliance on the punctuation of the videos somewhat blunted the sharpness of the material. Funny, and with lots of potential, Jones and Marsh deserve your time.
Laughing Horse @ Espionage, until 25 Aug, 12.00pm.
