ED2013 5/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
NewsRevue 2013 (Canal Café Theatre)
By Sarah Virgo | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Frequently sold-out, critically acclaimed sketch show NewsRevue returns for a 34th year at the Fringe and it doesn’t disappoint – definitely one of the best sketch shows to see at the Fringe this year. The musical numbers and sketches take you through the current affairs of the last year poking fun at everyone from Margaret Thatcher and Nick Clegg to the Royal Family and Clare Balding. The musical direction from Ed Bussey should be highly commended; the music numbers were upbeat and added the perfect element of song to the comical genius of the cast and writers. You know a show is truly brilliant when you don’t want the hour to end.
Pleasance Courtyard, until 25 Aug, 6.30pm.
