Matt Green – Alive (Lee Martin for Gag Reflex)
By Patricia-Ann Young | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Matt Green is indeed alive, and is celebrating that fact by providing twee commentary on the absurdities of modern living. His material is fruity enough to keep the show above tepid waters and he does posses a sharp edge that some of his duller contemporaries do not – still, there is a sense he is capable than more than he is currently giving. The UK comedy circuit is saturated with hapless, middle-class middle-Englander types and Green is in danger of fading into a white wash of samey-samey comedians. He is obviously a solid and talented funny man, just perhaps it is time to step forward from his peers and achieve some comedy mobility?
Pleasance Dome, until 25 Aug (not 13), 8.10pm.
