Luke Benson – Legendary Feet (RBM)
By Melissa Steel | Published on Saturday 10 August 2013
Luke Benson is a man many people will look up to, and not just because he is 6 foot 7. The comedian has completed many physical challenges, from the Tough Mudder assault course to walking 100km in one go. He draws on these experiences in his routine, with mixed results. Some of his material, especially musings on a career in basketball and Greek mythology, is well-thought out and easy to keep up with. However, he speeds through puns, leaving the audience little time to appreciate his wit, and a slide-show proves disappointing and disorganised. There is a sense of watching the class clown muck about; but though the show is messy, it’s still enjoyable.
Pleasance Courtyard, until 25 Aug (not 13), 9.45pm.
