ED2013 4/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
Laughing Horse Free Pick Of The Fringe (Laughing Horse Free Festival)
By Victoria Beardwood | Published on Wednesday 7 August 2013
Laughing Horse presents a different line-up of comedians in each of its three daily shows. With a compilation of comics doing 10-minute sets, you’re bound to get some duds, but perseverance – or luck – might see you come across a real gem. There were two stand-outs in the show I saw, in the forms of Benny Davis and Katerina Vrana. The former regaled the audience with humorous personal stories, interspersed with fantastic live songs played on a melodica. The latter possessed a personality as big as her hair (a topic which made up a large portion of her act), and was equally well received by spectators. The standard is unpredictable but take a chance – because you may end up seeing something incredible.
Laughing Horse @ Espionage, until 25 Aug, 6.00pm, 8.30pm, 11.00pm.
