Joby Mageean – Condiment Soup (Chambers Presents)
By Roberta Thomson | Published on Friday 9 August 2013
Joby Mageean and his special guests are definitely ones to watch. ‘Condiment Soup’ is a stand-up show featuring a number of comedians, complete with hilarious gags and brilliantly written songs. Mageean himself brought an enthusiasm and energy to the stage, constantly engaging the audience. He also showed himself capable of dealing with incredibly persistent hecklers and, at times, his put downs were funnier than his scripted jokes. Some of the jokes fell flat or went straight over the audience’s heads, but they were worth sitting through for a stand out performance from Sam Chaplin, whose routine had the audience laughing from beginning to end. Very funny.
