ED2013 4/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
Flhip Flhop (Rannel And Makin Projects)
By Clare Dolan | Published on Saturday 24 August 2013
Flhip Flhop crams numerous talents into its gaping mouth, chews and creates a delicious new flavour; it’s a mix of, but is not limited to, acting, DJ-ing, breakdancing, beat boxing, physical comedy and harmonica playing, all of which the pair seem to be pros at. Joey and Matt don’t provide the audience with too many chances to belly laugh, rather, we ogle at their incredible comic timing. They mesmerise the audience using flip flops, record sleeves, hats, biscuits, even their own tangling legs. The overarching story line doesn’t shine, but links scenes together well enough to deem it necessary. The show is exceptionally polished and the use of sound effects seemingly flawless. Flhip Flhop keeps audience members of any age engaged till the last second.
Assembly Checkpoint, until 26 Aug, 6.15pm.
