ED2013 3/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
DillyDolly (Cheekykita / Free Festival)

It’s important to go into this show with every single part of your mind wide open. I doubt very much there’s another show in Edinburgh that encourages the audience to throw crisps at the stage! It is entertaining in a surreal way, though it’s definitely a niche comedy show. I found it tried too hard to be ‘abnormal’ humour, meaning the comedy jarred and didn’t flow well from theme to theme. It often seemed to be weird just for the sake of being weird, trying to shock or surprise more than amuse us. ‘DillyDolly’ will be just too odd for some people, but if Lizard Ballet sounds like your sort of thing, then prepare to be mesmerised!
Laughing Horse @ The Newsroom, until 25 Aug, 2.30pm.
