ED2013 5/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
Best Of The Fest (Assembly)
By Julian Joseph | Published on Sunday 25 August 2013
A comedy showcase done right: the quality of the comedians is spectacular and the show lent just enough time to each act while maintaining flow and momentum. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and intimate, despite the larger venue, and everyone was keen to have a good time. Although all the acts were good, the headliner Adam Hills was absolutely the best, running an entirely improvised show; this included parodying an earlier camp, dance, strip act, ‘The Lords of Strut’, with members of the audience. The line-up revolves every night, but all the acts I saw were consistently on the ball, distinguishable, diverse and adapted well to the shorter, showcase format; genuinely top of the range Fringe comedy.
Assembly Hall, until 25 Aug, 11.59pm.
