Best Of Edinburgh Showcase Show (EdCom Productions)
By Victoria Beardwood | Published on Wednesday 7 August 2013
If you’re a ‘try before you buy’ kind of person, this showcase of comedy talent is just the thing. The line-up changes every day, providing a fresh insight into what the festival has on offer. Such shows are inevitably a bit hit-and-miss, and the early-afternoon slot means that the comedians are forced to hold back some of their more cutting material. Happily, enjoyment still remains inevitable. The highlights of this instalment included the good-natured compère, Gordon Southern, who established an instant connection with the audience, and comedian Chris Martin, who delivered well-honed jokes built on simple ideas, including the seemingly uninspiring subject of Tupperware.
Pleasance Courtyard, until 25 Aug, 1.10pm.
