Baconface – It’s All Bacon (Bacon Face / The Stand Comedy Club)
By Elizabeth Jewell | Published on Tuesday 13 August 2013
‘Canadian comic’ Baconface has come up with a catchphrase – the “it’s all bacon” of the title (the associated audience response is optional) – added a few jokes and somehow turned that into a 50 minute show. Admittedly, it’s got some genuinely amusing moments, but it is delivered by a man wearing a Mexican wrestling mask covered with raw bacon, like a crash helmet very much unsuitable for vegetarians. In a venue as small as The Stand II, you can actually smell it. You have been warned. The show itself was deliberately extremely repetitive which became tiresome and tedious. Only for fans of bacon, Canada and Stewart Lee.
The Stand Comedy Club II, until 25 Aug (not 12), 1.20pm.
