An Uncivil Partnership (Susie McCabe)
By Mairi McNicol | Published on Monday 26 August 2013
Prepare to laugh yourself silly. McCabe comes across as a genuinely warm, friendly person who seems pleased to be where she is. It would be incredibly difficult not to like her or her comedy as she talks about her upcoming civil partnership. Her humour often reminded me of Kevin Bridges; unapologetically and hilariously Scottish, but with the ability to transcend into other areas of comedy. Though it was her material on gym time at Scottish primary schools that most had the audience crying with laughter. She did often balance on the precipice between crass and comical, but this suited her perfectly, and it never felt like she was aggressively throwing about expletives just for the sake of a laugh. A great way to spend an afternoon.
