ED2013 1/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
Alistair Greaves and Si Beckwith – All Aboard for Funtime! (Alistair Greaves / Simon Beckwith)
By Joseph Trotter | Published on Thursday 22 August 2013
Sometimes, you’re just not cut out to be the thing you love. Sadly, I’m never going to be a professional footballer, and nobody on this showcase (of sorts) ought really to be a professional comedian. The enthusiasm is there, but the standard of the performances is such that it becomes an excruciatingly pitiful hour. Pity laughter is never pleasant, but when it’s aimed at yourself for pulling the reviewing short-straw then things really have come to a head. There was one good pun in the whole set, and frankly, that’s being kind. Even for a free show, you’ll feel ripped off.
Laughing Horse @ The White Horse, until 26 Aug, 11.00pm.
