ED2013 1/5 Reviews ED2013 Comedy Reviews
A Lighthearted Alternative To Culture (Goof Troupe / PBH’s Free Fringe)
By Alix White | Published on Friday 16 August 2013
This was a really poor selection of awkward and unfunny comedians, with the host being without a doubt the worst part of the show. Sam Chaplin was the only saving grace but, as he was the final act, the audience had already lost the will to live by the time he came on (and a few had walked out). The most amusing part was a man in the audience’s over-appreciation of the host’s terrible puns. He chuckled away and noted out loud, “they are all comprehensible” – a clear sign that the audience were struggling to find any kind of amusement. Genuinely one to avoid unless you can’t face the rush hour traffic and need to kill an hour (literally).
Mood Nightclub, until 13 Aug (not 12), 5.05pm.
