Matt And Ian’s Improv Show (Matt And Ian)
By Lizzie Milton | Published on Saturday 31 August 2013
This short form improv show, playing games anyone whose watched ‘whose line is it anyway?’ has seen before, is unfortunately neither an original or competently performed show. Matt and Ian failed in basic scene setting, so a sketch could go on for five minutes without the audience knowing where the pair were, what their relationship was or what they were doing. When you add in long silences, a lack of interesting jokes and an excessive amount of corpsing, the duo came across as inexperienced and a little out of their depth. Matt showed occasionally moments of wit, but with games going on for in excess of ten minutes at a time, it was overshadowed by a general aura of incompetency.
Sweet, until 25 Aug, 7pm
