ED2013 4/5 Reviews ED2013 Children's Shows Reviews
I Believe In Unicorns (Wizare Presents)
By Lizzie Milton | Published on Saturday 31 August 2013
This is a clever and entertaining adaptation of the children’s novel by Michael Morpurgo and is a great story for encouraging children to read and write. The starring duo tell engaging stories, bringing chocolates, ukuleles and pop-up houses out of the books strewn across the stage, in a very competent performance, only lacking in that there isn’t quite enough variation between characters. There is an appropriate amount of audience interaction to keep the little ones engaged, but the performers always retain basic control over the show. Whilst a little more could be done in performance to bring the stories to life, what they do is great fun, and they are working with such fantastic raw material that it still makes for a brilliant show.
Pleasance Courtyard, until 26 Aug, 11.45am.
