Frenetic and exciting, the ‘Takeaway Story Show’ has an interesting and original premise. The children are invited to come up with suggestions for a story, which are improvised into a narrative by enthusiastic actors. The show can then be downloaded. With an audience of boisterous children there were plenty of ideas flying around, from a fat dolphin called Sam to Captain Fart (the accompanying noises still ring in my ears.) Perhaps because of the large audience, the performers seemed a little flustered and the story was not as smooth or clear as it could have been. A promising show with a lot of potential, but not quite the level of execution required for such a big task.
