My Brother The Robot (Tall Stories)
By Andrew Bell | Published on Saturday 31 August 2013
Adapted from the story of the same name, ‘My Brother The Robot’ follows Bobby as she teaches her “brother”, R4, about life. Captivated by this sweet tale on how we learn and what family means, the audience of young children sat enraptured. The youngsters were particularly taken with the childlike antics of R4, while his inventor father, Professor Rossum, provides a knowing commentary for the adults in the room. Song and dance numbers are scattered throughout, preventing anyone from getting too restless. The start of the story is, perhaps, a little slow – we could have done with less time with R3 the geography teacher– but this is remains a show which children and adults will enjoy.
Pleasance Coutyard, until 25 Aug, 2.55pm.
