Tricity Vogue – Calamitous Liaisons – Free (Tricity Vogue / Free Festival)
By Victoria Beardwood | Published on Sunday 11 August 2013
Tricity Vogue began perched upon a stool, clad in a satin kimono, fishnet tights and the most gorgeous shoes I’ve ever seen. She related, through song, the stories of her numerous disastrous relationships and flings. This ukulele-strumming siren was a confident performer and skilled musician, but unfortunately she struggled to psych up the audience enough to get them to participate, meaning that the attempted interaction was a bit of a washout. Her act ranged from cheeky little ditties to venomous songs about – you guessed it – ex-boyfriends. She started off strong with a two minute song detailing her entire sexual history and, though some of the later songs were weaker, this innuendo-filled show was a delight to watch.
Laughing Horse @ The Counting House, until 18 Aug (not 12), 5.00pm.
