Shaggy Doggerel (Mellor & Steele)
By Jasmine Faller | Published on Saturday 31 August 2013
With ‘Shaggy Doggerel’, Mellor and Steele are using the Free Fringe to test drive some of their ideas for a paid show next year, which if you think about it, is a really good idea. Unlike their main show ‘Anthropoetry’, which is a collection of shorter pieces of slam poetry, ‘Shaggy Doggerel’ consists of longer, more story based performances. There’s a hint of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to the tales, only they’re a bit more disturbing and a bit more about football. Whatever you’re in to, whether you’re a poncey arty type or a total philistine, you’ll enjoy seeing Mellor and Steele perform. They’re skilled, clever, fun, dynamic, and just plain super awesome.
Fingers Piano Bar, until 24 Aug, 5.30pm.
