Piff The Magic Dragon Show (Piff The Magic Dragon and Mr Piffles)
By Eleanor Lang | Published on Wednesday 21 August 2013
If you’re looking for some light-hearted entertainment, then Fringe regular Piff The Magic Dragon would be worth your money. This is magic with an amusing and comic twist. He’s a juxtaposition of dry and sarcastic wit wrapped up in an adorable dragon costume – a strange mix of awkwardly funny showmanship and engaging magic tricks. At times you may feel a little awkward at the use of his pet chihuahua and goldfish, but they’re never harmed. The character of Miss Sunshine, his assistant, is ironically grumpy and both characters help to make this an enjoyable show. A welcome bit of silliness, performed by a pro, with impressive magic tricks that leave me perplexed even now.
Pleasance Dome, until 25 Aug, 7.10pm.
