ED2013 5/5 Reviews ED2013 Cabaret Reviews
La Clique (The Famous Spiegeltent)
By Samantha Strachan | Published on Monday 19 August 2013
Imagine ‘Cirque du Soleil’ on a stage one fiftieth of their usual size but with equally impressive acts, and you’ve got ‘La Clique’. A cabaret variety show performed in the beautiful venue of the Famous Spiegeltent, ranging from burlesque to trapeze to a homosexual rabbit, they’ve got it all. But it was the act that had just come out of retirement that gave me the greatest adrenalin rush, because they were on nothing less than roller skates!! I’ve never seen anything as crazy and on such a small stage; for five minutes my heart stopped and I forgot how to breathe. If there’s one act to see at the Fringe this year, this is it… And Scotty the Blue Bunny.
The Famous Spiegeltent, until 25 Aug, 10.00pm.
