Edinburgh – A Tale of Two Towns (Saints & Sinners Walking Tours)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

The walking tour, headed by friendly guide and storyteller, Peter, was a wet and windy affair. Where this might have been a disaster, Peter made his tourists as comfortable as possible, under shelter whenever achievable. Offering an interesting collection of facts about the historical city’s old and new towns from the many writers residing in its streets, to the story behind the one o’clock gun, Peter was ready and raring to answer any questions raised and could provide information on just about every landscape, piece of architecture or street. Starting at the well-known Greyfriars Bobby and ending at the Princes Street Mall with a tale of the mysterious Brodie gang, the two-hour walk was a fascinating insight into Edinburgh’s spectacles.

Outside Greyfriars Bobby Bar, 30 Jul-1 Sep (not 5, 12, 19, 26 Aug) 11.00am.
