Wrecked (Fiddy West Productions / The Lowry Studio)

An overwhelmingly realistic performance of a deeply frightening and violent script. Toby, Dimp and Smalley are three typical young boys, slowly transgressing their way into adulthood in a young boy’s way: a bit of drinking, unsuccessful shoplifting, a bit of showing off. The return of Toby’s father from prison turns this innocent process into a crude reality. He leads them in a near ‘Clockwork Orange’ scenario, full of drugs, racism, and brutality. Some scenes make you jump in your seat, others make you think, yeah, this is a Saturday night in a real place, and I don’t want to be there. Not for the faint-hearted, but well worth seeing – if you can stomach the blood and guilt and authenticity!
