Whale Tale (Ricochet)
By Jessamine McHugh | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Jump on and hold tight to the ‘Whale Tale’ for an afternoon of charming, family-friendly fun. This story follows a little whale on its journey from surface to sea-bed and back, with the two hitchhikers he picks up on the way: step-sisters who get tipped off their whale-watching boat and are swallowed whole by our lead marine mammal. This may not be the most original idea, but Ricochet’s use of puppets and props do keep it interesting, as do the occasional injections of audience participation. Furthermore, the two actresses produce a wide range of characters whilst also maintaining an approachable and amusing air. ‘Whale Tale’ makes for an enjoyable afternoon adventure and is worth-seeing.
