Threads (NUTS)

By | Published on Friday 17 August 2012

A man wakes up after a drug binge without remembering a thing, not even his own name. Through a series of encounters with police and neighbours he pieces together the details of his past in an attempt to rescue the present. The lead actor’s portrayal of Michael as a confused, insecure addict was thorough and intense, and he commanded the stage with his vulnerability. However, the strength of his performance served to emphasise the disappointing ensemble, most notably the mysterious, snide character that appeared oddly non-threatening, despite his supposed malicious intentions. Despite some great performances and a good concept, only threads of this production are memorable.
