The Talented Mr Ripley (American High School Theatre Festival)
By India Doyle | Published on Friday 17 August 2012
The Oxford High School theatre group gave a very impressive collective performance in ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’. Taking their lead from the confident and talented Colin Schultz, who at just 18 years old portrayed a mature and deceptive Tom Ripley, the whole cast buzzed with energy. Schultz was supported by Martin Bodenheimer and Laykn Collier, who both gave convincing and strong performances in their own right. The play was fast paced and well structured; scene changes were slick and the use of props was imaginative, ensuring that the play was swamped in atmosphere throughout. Part of the American High School Theatre Festival, the cast of ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’ have created a play that has a professionalism well beyond their years.
Church Hill Theatre, 9-11 Aug, times vary.
