Tea Is An Evening Meal (Faye Draper in association with Third Angel and Northern Stage)

By | Published on Friday 17 August 2012

Revealing the rules and rituals of British table etiquette: the appropriate thickness of gravy, for example, what your tea preferences say about you, and when it’s appropriate to eat food from your lap or the table; you will be left smiling at the familiarity of Faye Draper’s stories, which will probably evoke your own cherished memories. Inviting you to sit down around a table and have a cup of tea, Draper intimately appropriates scenarios to different individuals at the table – which may initially be intimidating but Lancashire-based Draper is a charmingly warm host, inviting you to play and encouraging you to “have another biscuit!”. Heart-warming and original, this show is a delightful representation of British culture and it’s even better if you love a good brew!

Northern Stage at St Stephen’s, 7-10 Aug, 2.40pm.
