Seeing Double – Figures (Greenlight Theatre)
By Khristine Gallagher | Published on Sunday 12 August 2012
Prepare to be plunged into the archaic world of theatre production as this play reveals the over-dramatic farcical war that comes with bringing ideas to the stage. Armed with a secret video camera, a crew anxiously try to piece together the sparkling vision of a secretive and non-cooperative director. Along the way, they encounter dildos strapped to shoulders, the ingenuity of a smoke machine and the fun you can have standing in a box. Worth noting was the blubbering mess of Trudy; ferociously passionate and as terrifying as that pretentious drama teacher that you remember from school. Scatter-brained, intense and absolutely hilarious – be sure to check out this roller-coaster of a production within a production.
Pleasance Courtyard, 5-27 Aug, 11.30am.
