Quick! Save The Pizza! (Mirror Mirror Theatre Company)
By Paige Wilson | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Any play that takes you on a journey around the world accompanied by superheroes is attempting a lot. Tackling the topical subject matter of sinking economies, ‘Quick! Save The Pizza!’ documents the struggle of the European states to keep themselves financially afloat, and sadly fails to either entertain or make a point. A few impressions of world leaders got the crowd giggling but that depended upon the power of cliché rather than the acting, script or presentation; for a company that claims to have a “focus on innovative and physical storytelling” there was little more to demonstrate that than a blue sheet being waved about to represent the ocean and various cut-outs on sticks. Childish and uninspired, my advice is Quick! Save Yourself!
