Meat (Catherine’s Club in association with Mermaids)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

What decadence and debauchery. What secrecy. Black velvet and purple silk, pink soup and men dressed as waitresses: welcome to the Catherine’s Club. No women allowed, bizarre structures and a legacy of handed-down rituals, traditions and initiation processes. Do such societies still exist in our modern universities? Is this where leaders are created? ‘Meat’ is a succulent satire, dark, comical, critical and entertainingly introduced by Charlie Moon, the shining, flattering-cruel, President of the Club. The audience follow his every move of the eyebrow, is entranced by his smooth voice, seduced by the movement of his fine gloved hands; spellbound. On top of that, the script and other performers are the perfect complements to his talents.

Paradise in The Vault, 4-19 Aug (not 12), 7.10pm.
