Leonce And Lena (The Lincoln Company with Amplified Illusions)
By Charlotte Mortimer-Talman | Published on Tuesday 7 August 2012
Genuinely very funny and simply put together, this love story starts with a lost bet and a subsequently arranged marriage. Meeting by chance as they each flee their parents’ perceived tyranny, it’s love at first sight for the fated couple. Perhaps it’s a little too simplified at times, and not all the plot points were resolved in an entirely satisfying manner, But with cowboys and cougars, bad Mexican music, lovesick sidekicks and Vegas, Baby, it’s hard not to just sit back and enjoy the laughter. Leonce and Lena brings the world of poker tables, wedding chapels, Elvis, and crazy ex girlfriends – no I mean it, REALLY crazy ex girlfriends- to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
C Nova, 2-27 Aug (not 14), 5.45pm.
