What a darkly powerful undertaking! A lifetime of research must have gone into the development of this monologue, and the most intense study of the Führer’s every movement and peculiarity. This monologue touches on manifold aspects of Hitler’s life, and it is neither apologetic nor holding back, but merely a neutral observation of what his thoughts in his last dark hours in a bunker under Berlin could have been, to whatever extent this can ever be neutral. Portraying evil is a challenge, and it is courageous and admirable to do it on this level. The intensity of one personality in a small room, decorated only by one red banner bearing the Swastika, makes what happened in Germany so many decades ago a crude reality.
