Her Right Mind (Rugged Isaac Theatre)

By | Published on Friday 24 August 2012

Jill has looked after her brother all her adult life and longs to give him the independence he needs and give herself the freedom she feels she deserves. What she doesn’t realise is that escaping the past and letting go is harder than she could have imagined. The choreography of Jack and Jill’s daily routine and how it slowly changes is particularly slick, as is the use of props to create scenery on an otherwise fairly sparse stage. Devised and written by the cast, this simple but emotional play taps into that most vital of human fears: loneliness. ‘Her Right Mind’ is a beautiful, cleverly constructed piece of theatre that is performed with wit and sensitivity, without ever being melodramatic.

Greenside, 3-25 Aug, 5.20pm.
