Going Green The Wong Way (CalArts Festival Theatre / Kristina Wong)
By Ciara Knowles | Published on Friday 17 August 2012
Eco-warriors or eco-weirdos, everyone seems to have an opinion on environmental campaigners, and Kristina Wong is no exception. Commissioned by Mother Earth to pledge her youth to the eco-cause, Wong acts, sings and raps through her snappy journey. With its typically American style and gutsy delivery it might not have every Fringe-goer wetting their reusable, environmentally-friendly incontinence pads. At times, it’s all a bit much. However, tales of run-ins with Love Craft Biofuels of Silverlake (and the unusual prize on offer to an audience member) accentuate the snappy stage presence of this performer who can surely pack a punch. Can going green can be more gutsy and graphic?
Venue 13, 4-25 Aug (not 6, 13), times vary.
