Glory Dazed (Second Shot Productions)
By Anna McDonald | Published on Sunday 12 August 2012
How many British soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the start of the war? It’s a question plaguing Ray, a returning soldier who has come back with more than just memories of the conflict. Set at closing time of a pub in Doncaster, ‘Glory Dazed’ explores the cost of war for Ray, his ex-wife Carla, best friend Simon and unsuspecting barmaid Leanne who gets caught in the crossfire. This play is incredibly written; beautifully paced and engaging with a perfect blend of intensity and comedic interludes. The four-strong cast are captivating in their roles and the result is a powerful and moving piece of theatre which will leave you with a lot to think about long after the curtain has fallen.
Underbelly Cowgate, 2-26 August (not 15), 5.00pm.
