Future Tales (Sierakowski) (Komuna//Warszawa)

By | Published on Friday 24 August 2012

This show is an assault on the senses! Delivered in Polish throughout with English text translations, it provides an insight into the current left-wing political debates that exist in Poland. ‘Future Tales’ is a fictitious future biography of Stawomir Sierakowski – the left-wing Polish intellectual, activist and founder of ‘The Brave New World’, a Polish think tank that serves as a forum for discussion, art presentations and social and political projects. This show is both educational & abstract, making use of technology, lights, sound, mirrors, cutlery and even milk! It felt like being in a living, breathing art installation exploring the endless possibilities of the future. I recommend it, though it is certainly not for the faint-hearted.

Summerhall, 15-26 Aug, 8.45pm.
