Eat $hit – How Our Waste Can Save The World (The POOP Project with WTE Theatre – New York)
By Ciara Knowles | Published on Monday 20 August 2012
Seeing a suited man desperately try to poo (trousers were around his waist, thankfully) is a less than welcome sight on entering the theatre. Yet surely with this start to the performance, things could only get better? No doubt the issues of social justice raised are pressing, but the script’s excessive excrement puns result in awkward glances and giggles. The very talented cast has a strong, punchy commitment but was let down by the bizarre and slightly unclear plot – perhaps this wasn’t the best manner in which to rally public support. It’s clear to see that they tried to promote the POOP Project effectively, but in the end all I wanted to do was flush any poo far, far away.
