Dracula – Sex, Sucking And Stardom (Last Chance Saloon)
By Iain Martin | Published on Friday 24 August 2012
Last Chance Saloon carry on the long tradition of gloriously silly British comedy with this retelling of Bram Stoker’s fang-banging classic. The all-male cast of three play every part, including the women, requiring them to maintain a frenetic pace throughout. It’s thoroughly enjoyable, as they blend various styles of comedy, such as slapstick, visual gags and breaking the fourth wall to great effect. They also do a fine line in pop songs with a vampire twist during their occasional musical interludes: ‘Stake On Me’ and the Cee-lo Green classic ‘Suck You’ were my personal favourites. In fact, last time I enjoyed a show about sucking so much, I was in Amsterdam.
