Dirty Great Love Story (Richard Marsh and Katie Bonna)

By | Published on Friday 17 August 2012

A stag and a hen thrust together by their friends begin a hapless and hilarious romance in poetic thirties love comedy ‘Dirty Great Love Story’. This show is loaded with sex jokes and soul, and Katie Bonna and Richard Marsh inject early morning, industrial-strength caffeine into a situation and genre with a hangover. The comedy is diverse and intense, given pace and density by the poetic, spoken-word style of the prose, and the boundaries between stand-up, theatre, and performance poetry are bravely and brilliantly blurred. From cock jokes to nuanced puns, the linguistic chicanery of these two writer-performers brings to life two developed and likeable characters with nuance and style. This is a genre-buster for the whole fringe.

Pleasance Dome, 1-27 Aug, 1.20pm.
