Detention (Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio)
By Nicholas Jones | Published on Monday 13 August 2012
It is well known that if you are foolish enough to leave some boys alone in a classroom then mayhem will ensue. Equally true is the fact that adding a girl to the mix will only make matters worse, as the testosterone-fuelled lads simply must outdo each other. ‘Detention’ is placed in just such a setting, and the opportunity to show off is exactly what the extremely talented members of Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio need to shine. Given the Olympic fever currently gripping Britain it could hardly be more appropriate to take in a show which contains both gymnastic grace and sharp comedy, so I urge you to buy a ticket for ‘Detention’.
Summerhall, 1-26 Aug (not 6, 13, 20), 1.00pm
