ED2012 3/5 Reviews ED2012 Theatre Reviews
Botallack O’Clock (Third Man Theatre)
By Ella Fryer-Smith | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Inspired by the life and death of Roger Hilton CBE, this show depicts the artist in the later parts of his life when he was a bed-ridden alcoholic and we become privy to the musings of a creative on the edge and the unravelling of the inner workings of his mind. The acting is totally believable, and the show is performed with great skill and timed to perfection. However, I was not completely engaged throughout this performance and found my mind wandering to other things at times, and as I looked around I could see I wasn’t the only one. It’s a shame, since this is obviously a well-constructed piece delivered by talented people. Perhaps a little too long? See what you think.
