3.2 Seconds (bitter/sweet)

This lift thing – I still don’t get it. The show’s concept is that the audience decides whether four characters get into an overcrowded lift or not. Mostly the characters get in the lift, then they get out of the lift, and everything goes cataclysmically wrong in about five minutes, but in a way that has nothing to do with the lift. Regardless of how en vogue interactivity is, the incomprehensibility of this play makes a number of good performances impossible to gauge. The four stories have in common only that each character has a moderately dark past and that, with the help of iPhones, Christian fundamentalists are able to ruin them. It’s utterly bizarre, and don’t even ask about the title.
