ED2012 3/5 Reviews ED2012 Musical Reviews
Glasvegas (3 Bugs Fringe Theatre)

As a Scot, I was perhaps too critical of this troupe’s attempts at Glaswegian accents. It seems to me that your first step in deciding to perform a play set in Glasgow would be to establish whether your actors were capable of doing the accent, which most of this cast were not. It’s a shame, as other areas of the performance were fantastic: pitch-perfect singing from the entire cast, brilliant physical comedy and energetic performances from the three leads which meant they truly shone in the musical numbers. However, for me the experience of hearing them slide into a Brummy dialect was just too jarring to ignore and detracted from an otherwise very enjoyable show.
