With a huge array of glittering costumes, some slick and lively dancing, and very convincing acting, KD Theatre Productions’ 42nd Street made for an excellent relatively small scale production of a big Broadway show. The story, which depicts young Peggy Sawyer’s role in a successful musical extravaganza, is executed engagingly and dynamically by the young cast. A few ropey American accents, and a couple of cast members not quite getting their notes right are the only things that made this show less than one hundred percent professional. It was a delight to take a step back in time and experience an hour and forty-five minutes in the life of 1930s musical theatre performers.
