Rock And Pop On The Fringe (Trinity College London)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

Looking to enrol on a music course at Trinity College London? Want to see the video game ‘Rock Band’ broken into its composite parts and performed by able, but unexciting, young musicians? If you’ve answered yes to either of these questions then this show might be for you. Otherwise, you’re in for a thoroughly dull hour. The sales pitch is delivered by an infuriatingly patronising gentleman and the only respite from his blethering comes with mediocre musicians playing along to backing tracks. The interchanges between pitch and performance are almost too much to bear, but they do exemplify the whole hour – consisting of copious amounts of awkwardness with a generous dollop of indifference, feelings wholly shared by the audience.

Blackwell’s Bookshop, 1-11 Aug, 2.30pm.
