Tommy Talks (Tommy Holgate)

By | Published on Wednesday 15 August 2012

Despite the name there is very little chat from Tommy Holgate, but the show is more about his guests than himself. Essentially, this is a ramshackle chat show, where neither the host nor guests appear to really know what’s going on. Artists come on stage to sell their shows to the audience, whilst Holgate asks some vague and uninteresting questions. Nevertheless, the guests offered some tangible entertainment, despite the set up; Barry Morgan was strange and wonderful, and the effect of comedians Patrick Monahan and Hannibal Buress talking on stage at the same time was brilliant. However, if you want to hear from different comedians, I’d probably suggest listening to the podcast, which is made afterwards, rather than paying to see it.
