ED2012 Comedy Reviews

Ted And Co The Dinner Show (Laughlines Ltd)

By | Published on Friday 31 August 2012

Forget all the street performers, fancy dress and festival oddities you’ve seen this year – ‘Ted And Co’ could possibly be the most bizarre experience you’ll encounter at the Fringe. The general idea is an interactive, ‘Father Ted’-themed, three course meal, with the well loved comedy characters of the TV series making jokes, humiliating the audience, and playing plain silly as you eat. Father Ted is more motivated than he is on the TV and Father Dougal is not so innocent and rather rude, though Father Jack is as filthy as his TV counterpart, slurring obscenities in to your ears as you eat dinner. The food was lovely, but the surreal characters and the nature of the performance means you can only enjoy the repast nervously, and on the edge of your seat.
