Phil Buckley – Simple Things – Free (Grin & Bear/Free Festival)
By Emma Obank | Published on Friday 31 August 2012
Phil Buckley is quite possibly the world’s nicest and humblest comedian; greeting people as they enter the room, and telling endearing stories about how much he loves his fiancée… and an AK47. Buckley shares some of his embarrassing drunken stories, as well as some of the things that he finds funny for no apparent reason, such as his hometown – Ramsbottom. Sadly this show just seems to be lacking the wow factor. The best thing about Buckley is that all of his stories are true, but some of them just aren’t that funny and are merely half-smile worthy. However, provides an hour of easy-listening carefree comedy that you can easily enjoy your first pint to.
